French Streamer’s Tragic Death Prompts Probe into Alleged Torture and Abuse

French streamer Raphaël Graven, widely known as Jeanpormanove, has left fans in shock following his tragic death during a live stream. With a following exceeding a million across social media, he was a prominent figure on the streaming platform Kick.

This article contains allegations of violence that may distress some readers. The details surrounding Jeanpormanove’s death involve claims of severe mistreatment in the days leading up to his passing.

Naruto, a co-creator of Jeanpormanove, shared the heartbreaking news of his death via an Instagram tribute. He requested that fans honor the streamer by not sharing clips from the stream in question.

According to local media, Jeanpormanove allegedly endured ten days of torture during his live streams. These “humiliation streams” reportedly included acts of physical abuse, such as slapping and choking.

The streamer was allegedly subjected to extreme violence, including being spat on and having objects thrown at him. These incidents were broadcast, raising questions about the nature of his content.

Jeanpormanove is said to have passed away in his sleep during a live stream. His body was found at his home on Monday, August 18, while still broadcasting.

The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the death. Speaking to La Parisien, officials noted that interviews are underway, and an autopsy is planned to determine the cause.

Just days before his death, Jeanpormanove reportedly messaged his mother, expressing feelings of being “held hostage” and frustration with his controversial streaming content.

Clara Chappaz, France’s Minister for Digital Affairs and Artificial Intelligence, labeled the situation “absolute horror.” She condemned the humiliation and mistreatment the streamer faced.

Sarah El Haïry, France’s High Commissioner for Children, called the death “horrifying.” She urged platforms to regulate violent content to protect young viewers.

Chappaz has referred the issue to the French media regulator and Pharos, the system for reporting harmful online content, to address the broader implications of such streams.

Allegations suggest that Owen Cenazandotti (Naruto) and Safine Hamadi (Safine) were involved in the humiliation streams, alongside another individual known as Coudoux.

In January, Naruto and Safine were briefly detained by police. A Nice prosecutor stated that both the accused and victims denied any offenses, leading to their release.

Naruto’s lawyer, Yassin Sadouni, told Le Monde that they are awaiting investigation results to clarify the circumstances of Jeanpormanove’s death and establish responsibility.

Sadouni further clarified to AFP that his client is not responsible for the streamer’s death, stressing that the ongoing investigation will provide answers.

A Kick spokesperson expressed grief over Jeanpormanove’s passing. They stated the platform is reviewing the incident and working with stakeholders to uphold community guidelines.

The investigation into Jeanpormanove’s death continues, prompting critical discussions about the safety of content creators and the need for stricter online platform regulations.
