Houston Bayou Deaths Spark Panic: 24 Bodies, No Serial Killer?

Here is all the information available on the 24 individuals discovered deceased in Houston bayous this year as concerns mount over a possible serial killer at large.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire has repeatedly rejected these theories, stating earlier this month: “We do not have any evidence that there is a serial killer loose in Houston, Texas.”

“Enough is enough of wild speculation,” he declared during a press conference earlier this month.

The mayor described the drownings as “not a new phenomenon,” attributing the tragedies to drugs, alcohol, and homelessness.

“Unfortunately the homeless, when they pass, often end up in the bayou,” he explained.

Nevertheless, 24 lives have been claimed in Houston-area bayous this year, raising alarms about the safety of the region’s waterways.

Swearingen had prior felony convictions for drug possession and attempted retaliation.
