Billionaire’s Fatal Quest: Surgeons Banned After Deadly Penis Enlargement Procedure

A prominent Belgian-Israeli diamond magnate met a shocking end in 2019 while pursuing cosmetic enhancement.

The 65-year-old Ehud Arye Laniado, a wealthy dealer in raw diamonds, passed away during a procedure aimed at increasing penile size.

The incident unfolded at the luxurious Saint-Honoré-Ponthieu aesthetic clinic in Paris’s upscale VIIIe arrondissement.

Laniado, a regular patient, visited the facility two to four times annually for various treatments, often scheduled outside standard operating hours.

He underwent injections designed to enlarge the appearance of his penis, a common but risky cosmetic intervention.

Tragically, he suffered a fatal heart attack during the Saturday evening session, despite efforts to revive him.

Investigators initially probed potential manslaughter linked to the injection but quickly ruled it out as the direct cause.

The focus shifted to the surgeon’s delayed emergency response—he first called for help at 8pm, then summoned firefighters two hours later.

Complications arose from the patient’s pre-existing ulcer, which masked the cardiac emergency and complicated immediate aid.

The lead surgeon, known as Guy H., attempted CPR but could not save Laniado’s life.

In a 2026 Paris court ruling, Guy H. was sentenced to 15 months in prison, had his medical license permanently suspended, and was ordered to pay a €50,000 fine.

His stand-in surgeon received a 12-month suspended sentence, a similar ban from practice, and a €20,000 penalty.

An insider noted that such elite cosmetic practices frequently skirt regulations, making this outcome unsurprising yet disruptive for the renowned clinic.
