Actress Francia Raisa has finally spoken out about the long-standing rumors of a feud with Selena Gomez, her former roommate. The 37-year-old, who donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017, dismissed the alleged falling out as mere “rumors.”
In a recent bookstore event interview, Raisa addressed Gomez’s marriage to producer Benny Blanco. Speaking in Spanish, she said, “I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her.”
She added, “She has a life, she is already a billionaire, and I am grateful I could do that for her.”
Raisa emphasized that organ donation is about saving a life, not creating a lifelong bond. “It’s a donation,” she explained, comparing it to giving to St. Jude without expecting updates.

When asked about claims she was “angry” with Gomez’s post-transplant lifestyle, Raisa called the speculation “nonsense.” She stated, “No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it.
Maybe one day we will.” In 2017, Gomez’s lupus diagnosis prompted Raisa to become her kidney donor, despite warnings about the tough recovery.
The surgery was challenging, with Gomez nearly dying when an artery burst and Raisa facing depression and scars.

In 2022, Gomez’s comment about Taylor Swift being her “only friend in the industry” sparked speculation, especially after Raisa’s brief “Interesting” comment online, which she later deleted.
Gomez clarified, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” while Raisa insisted their bond endured despite distance.
By 2023, Raisa told USA Today they hadn’t spoken much in six years but stressed there was “no beef.” Their friendship rekindled by Raisa’s 35th birthday, proving time healed any gaps.
Though absent from Gomez’s star-studded September 2025 wedding, Raisa holds no grudges.
She said, “I’ve been super blessed ever since [the donation],” reflecting on their impactful journey.
